Spitified: Part 1

05:03

Hey folks!
How have you all been? Hoping everything is good on your side.
There is a kind of magicness about going far away and then coming back all changed. There is something so happy about places you have never been to. The excitement of reaching an unknown place and exploring it is something which cannot be expressed through words. The way a new place treats you and makes you want to stay back and never leave is definitely the best feeling in the whole wide world. You can never get enough out of a place. There is always more to it. The same happened to me and my crazy friends after exploring Spiti in Himachal Pradesh. We never wanted to leave that place. We could feel the homely warmth in that place. The not so familiar faces still made us feel familiar to them and to the place. We started off by making some new and definitely the coolest friends who made our trip much more beautiful.

Kullu - Kaza, Spiti : We wanted to start off early but as lazy as we always get, we started around 10 in the morning, all excited and happy to explore a new place. Crossing all the places such as Manali, Kothi, Marhi, Rohtang Pass and then diverting from Gramphu to Spiti. The road to Spiti does make you feel a bit irritated by the end of the journey but it is said that nothing comes easy. I can travel through that road a zillion times for the most amazing and mesmerizing view ever. Reached late at Kaza around 1 in the morning and just crashed at our rooms. We were staying at Yangkhyil Guest House near Police Station. You can find them on Instagram by the name @yangkhil and should definitely book your stay there whenever you're in Spiti.

Langza, Komic, Hikkim : Woke up all happy and ready to explore all the new places. We started our day off from The Himalayan Cafe located in the main market of Kaza. They serve good and delicious food and they had watermelon juice which was a big yay for me. All set to explore, we left for Langza village which is a beautiful destination. This picturesque village is blessed with ancient monasteries and buildings of the prehistoric era. It is surrounded by green pastures, snow-clad mountains and barren landscapes. The magic of nature at Langza village leaves everyone speechless. It is situated at an altitude of 4400 meters. There is a Langza Buddha statue situated right in between the village. Our next destination was Komic, World's Highest Village. It is situated at an altitude of 5150 m above sea level. The literal meaning of Komic is Snow Cock. The village is housed in a bowl shaped depression in the high trans-Himalayas and the village is split into two different parts. The village monastery is situated at the entrance and it is said that the monastery is more than 500 years old. The monastery has a rule which states that women are not allowed to enter during the prayers. It has a cafe named Spiti Organic Kitchen which serves delicious food. After Komic comes Hikkim which is situated at an altitude of 4440 m. You will find the World's Highest Post Office situated in Hikkim. Like Langza and Komic, Hikkim is also rich in fossil life from the Indian Ocean before the mighty Himalayas came into being. If you look properly, you might even spot a few! Also, you can spot Himalayan Blue Sheep in the mountains over there. The whole day was full of beautiful places and we were surrounded by such positive people. Also, we ended up partying in the evening and crashing on our beds to start off our next morning all happy.

Outfit Details : I wore a very comfy and casual set of outfit for the first day. The main thing before you get dressed up for exploring any place should be to remain as comfortable as possible. I grabbed my side striped grey pants from Shein.com in which I'm able to jump and move around as much as possible. I decided to wear my white shirt under a blue over-sized sweater from H&M along with the best pair of shoes which are my white chuck taylor. Also, fanny pack has to be the best thing that ever happened to me. It is so convenient to throw in all the essentials and move around freely. And, as I say, you should never forget to carry around a pair of sunglasses. I carried my oval vintage sunglasses which went perfectly with my outfit.

I hope you enjoy a glimpse of Spiti through my blog post. But, to experience that feeling and to capture that view through your naked eyes, you have to be there once. The beauty and serenity of this place is something everyone needs to experience. I have divided my Spiti trip into three parts and will be uploading the next part once you guys soak in the first part and enjoy it. I loved Spiti and finally got spitified. Couldn't feel any better than what I feel after being back from this place. Spiti has my heart forever. And, I'm surely going back for more.

Until next time...

Derma Essentia : The New Skincare Brand

08:03

Hey folks!

Long time, no see?

I hope you all are doing great as well as enjoying your summer vacations too. I'm kind of trying to get back on track but also have something new up on my mind. Anyway, coming back to today's post. It's another one of those review posts I've been trying my hands on lately. My target for this series of posts is to try out various new products and share it with you guys. So, today, I'll be introducing you to one of such new brands.

Derma Essentia : Inspired By Nature Innovative By Science

It's a brand with nature inspired scientific skin care products. They have some amazing range of luxurious skincare products. Derma Essentia is the division of the decade old pharmaceutical group Aurel Biolife. They are based in Chandigarh and Mumbai. They aim to improve the quality of skin care through the nature inspired scientific products. Their launch date is 2017. It's a new brand but is as amazing as it can be. I'll be introducing you to two products today.

1. Derma Essentia Advanced SPF 50 PA+++ : It comes in a white plastic tube in the form of gel. It is compact and hygienic to use and can also be carried around in your bag. All the vital product information like manufacturing date, expiry date and the list of ingredients is mentioned on the product itself. It is priced at 395/- INR. It is available online at Amazon and Flipkart and at their official website https://www.dermaessentia.com/ .

Review : I have a sensitive to combination type of skin. My skin easily gets irritated by using new products. I tend to get red spots and bumps whenever I switch to some new product. This is the reason I avoid using any new product. But, this isn't the case with Derma Essentia. My skin also gets tanned very easily to sun exposure. I have tried many sunscreens but all in vain. Whereas, I'm totally relying on Derma Essentia Advanced SPF 50 for the summers now. I totally love this sunscreen. It is a gel-based lotion that spreads quickly and evenly on the skin without leaving any white cast. It has a lightweight formula that does not clog the pores and also gives a non-greasy finish to the skin which is a total win-win situation for me. However, you need to reapply it every 3-4 hours but so is the case with almost all the sunscreens out there when your skin is exposed to sun for a longer period of time.

Advantages :

Anti-oxidant
Pollution protecting
Skin lightening
True gel based sunscreen
Easily spreadable water based sunscreen
Will not make your skin greasy or tacky
Light weight sunscreen formula
Non-whitening effect
Suited for all skin types
Non-irritant even to chemical sunscreen sensitive people
All day long refreshing wear sunscreen due to its cucumber fragrance

2. Derma Essentia Anti-Ageing Defence Vitamin C Serum : It comes in a glass bottle with a dropper. There is no direct contact with the product which is very hygienic to use. It has a liquid texture which can be poured straight from the dropper to the face and can be spread out evenly on the face. All the vital product information are mentioned on the product. It is priced at 950/- INR.

Review : Vitamin C is something that the Koreans totally swear by when it comes to skincare. Vitamin C is an essential component which is required for the production of collagen (skin protein) in the body that helps rejuvenate aged and photo damaged skin and helps in moisture retention to prevent it from wrinkle formation and skin dryness. It also acts as a potent antioxidant that can neutralize free radical damage in the skin. Applying Vitamin C to the skin is 20 times more effective for your skin than taking it orally in the form of pills. Derma Essentia Vitamin C serum contains purest and stable form of Vitamin C, i.e., ethyl ascorbic acid (15% Vitamin C). It gives protection from UV damage, reduces fine lines, regulates the synthesis of collagen, reduces skin pigmentation. It is filled with hyaluronic acid and ceramides which secures moisture and works as a hydrating agent. It can be used at night after you cleanse and tone your face. Serums can be absorbed quickly by the skin than moisturiser. Therefore, they should be added to your skincare regime before moisturiser.

Advantages :

Antioxidant Properties
Helps to reduce fine lines and wrinkles
Skin lightening
Repairs skin damage
Provides moisturization
Brightens skin

Make sure to get your hands on these products by Derma Essentia. I assure you that you won't regret buying them. I hope you enjoyed today's post. I'll keep you guys updated with all the new products that I get my hands on. Also, more fashion and travel posts are coming your way.

Until Next Time...

Brutal Review : Vitamin C Glow Revealing Liquid Peel

01:58

Hello folks!
Hoping that all of you are in the best of your health and spirits.
Here I am today with something brand new for all you guys. It's basically one of those beauty/make-up/skincare review posts. But, hey! It's a totally different and new thing to try my hands on. I probably ain't sure whether you guys are going to like it or not but let's just hope for the best. I'll keep you updated with all the skincare and makeup products that I use with my brutally honest reviews. I have also started an online shop where you can find some of the trendy, classic, affordable and fashionable items. You can shop them directly from my Instagram page (@wearyouofficial).

Product : Vitamin C Glow Revealing Liquid Peel

Brutal Review : I'll be reviewing the Vitamin C Glow Revealing Liquid Peel from The Bodyshop. It has definitely been one of my favorite skincare brands ever. It is meant for people who love smooth skin. This liquid peel basically works as a mild exfoliator. While randomly strolling around the bodyshop store, I came across this magic glow liquid. I first tried it on my hands and was totally left in shock after seeing all the dead skin cells. This product is a total wonder. You can see all the dirt and grime on the surface of your skin after using this liquid peel. It does not give you that miraculous glow if you wish for that but it certainly leaves you with a bit of glow on your face. The liquid has a slimy texture to it which is to be applied on dry skin. Pump a small amount onto your hands and massage it into your skin in slow circular motions. Small balls of dead skin will begin to form. After you're done, rinse your face with water to remove the product. The liquid dries out quickly, so, you can divide your face into two sections while using it. Also, remember that it is just meant to get rid of the dead skin cells and not the blackheads and whiteheads. It does loosen the blackheads part though. It has a bit of citrusy smell to it which may not be liked by many out there. The product comes in an orange plastic pump bottle with an extra safe locking seal. You can use it two or three days a week for that extra smooth skin. Currently, I am using this product and I love this glow revealing liquid peel.

Price : 1895/- INR

Trip with the Girlfriends

00:33

I was born to roam.

Traveling has been my favorite thing since I was a kid. The warmth of a new place, all those new faces, different cuisines and the serene view is something I cherish. The excitement as well as the fear of being on an all girls trip is something obscure. Since I have been born and brought up in the mountains, I had this urge to visit the most happening state of India, Goa, which stands 6th in the top 10 nightlife cities in the world in National Geographic Travel.

Day 1 : Delhi - Goa
Headed towards the airport with a lot of excitement and a suitcase in my hand. I boarded my flight. My first stop was Bangalore airport as I had a connecting flight to Goa. Wandering a bit on the airport and then grabbed a quick snack before boarding the next flight. Finally, after all the chaos of connecting flights, I reached my destination Goa. Also, did I mention that I was with three of my girlfriends on this trip. We had pre-booked rooms in Arambol, North Goa. A taxi was already there to pick us up in which we covered around 45 kms to reach Arambol. All washed up, we just decided to crash for the night.

Day 2 : Arambol & Morjim
Woke up to the soothing sound of the waves of Arambol beach and the view was just beyond explanation. All geared up, we decided to visit the sweet water lake in Arambol but then dropped the idea. Instead, we decided to visit Morjim beach. We hired two scooty and just hit the road. With the help of google maps, it was all easy to find the place. It is such a beautiful beach and has got so many restaurants which provide you sunbeds too. You just need to ask and it will be all ready for you. Cheering on bottles of beer, we just lay down and enjoyed our time there. Took a bit of pictures and then headed back to Arambol. Arambol has got a huge market where you can find souvenirs to bring back home for your loved ones. There are quite a few shops to buy different kinds of stuff from, like slippers, bikinis, jewellery items, clothes etc.

Day 3 : Palolem
Palolem is situated in South Goa. We had already reached the place on the previous night. You just need to hire a taxi and you shall reach your destination. South Goa is a beauty in itself. Also, the beaches over there have the most serene view. Palolem beach has 2-3 islands which are accessible through boats. You can find the boats on the shore and ask them to take you to any island of your preference. You can also find cute dolphins in the sea. We were headed to the butterfly island. After clicking a bit of pictures, we were back at Palolem beach. You can find numerous of restaurants serving great food. We poured ourselves glasses of wine and hogged over some good food and just chilled.

Day 4 : Cabo De Rama
My way to start a good day is with a cup of refreshing green tea. It was quite hot outside, so, we decided to be the lazy asses that we are and stayed indoors until evening. Around 5 in the evening, we headed to Cabo De Rama. Oh! I just can't explain the beauty of this place. Make sure to visit this place for the best sunset view ever. There is this restaurant over there which serves the best crepes with a perfect view. Just enjoy a good beer and some dainty seafood and calm your eyes with the best sunset view. We had our dinner next to Xalor beach. Also, do taste some of the Goan food too.

Day 5 : Cavelossim
Started off with an early morning. We headed to a cruise which looked more like a cute little double deck boat, Cris Cruises. We had booked the package in which it included unlimited snacks, food, drinks and sight-seeing. I definitely loved the vibe of this cruise : happy and calm. We saw some jellyfish, kingfish and other kinds of fish. We were served beer with good music. Garlic prawns for snacks and some sauteed fish with rice and bread. Also, dessert was served too. With this the day came to a happy end.

Day 6 : Benaulim
The trip was coming to an end. As it was an all girls trip, so we had to shop a bit too. Also, girls needed to take back booze with them for their family and friends. Brought back some souvenirs and alcohol with us. Headed back to our place and packed our stuff and then, we left for the airport. It was time to move to the end of the journey. Also, not having a connecting flight back to Delhi felt nice.

It was definitely one of the best trips ever. This trip definitely started to make me want to explore more and more of places. Also, it's made me a bit strong and I'm somewhere gathering the strength and courage to plan a solo trip in the near future.

Here's a glimpse of my experience...

Talking All Plaid

01:25

Hello folks!
My first big hello and tightest hugs for 2018 to all of you.
I am so happy and thankful for all those who have visited my blog for the past two years and have appreciated all the things I do. Yes! It's been two years since I started this blog to share all the things I love with you guys. I'm celebrating my two year blogversary this 23rd January. Thank you so much for being a part of the WC fam.

Today, I'll be talking all about plaid. It has been the most raved about trend this fall/winter 2017-18. It has been all over the runways and the streets. Whether you are interested in approaching a serious, office look or a more playful, 70s one, this versatile print will most likely turn into your favorite trend for this season. You will probably find it crafted into coats, blazers, pants, skirts, bags etc. Pulling off this trend should be a piece of cake. You can surely play around with this trend.

I decided to go for a pantsuit kind of look but still wanted to play a bit with it. So, I wore my plaid print jeggings instead of the pants. I went for a simple yet chic look which is something I always prefer. Teamed up my jeggings with a basic yet trustworthy white turtleneck sweater and threw on my plaid print frayed blazer. For footwear, I opted for my two tone block heels. Lastly, to finish off the look and also to accessorize a bit, I brought out my black handbag with a scarf which is a dupe for the Hermes Birkin handbag and my cat-eye kind of animal printed sunglasses. Cat-eye and futuristic sunglasses are a big trend this season. You can just mix and match and replace the pieces here and there with something that suits you better and totally pull off this trend.
